I've posted about The Million Dollar Home Page before. This clever post from American Copywriter is an excellent summary of the current state of affairs (and the envy that the success of this patently wacky idea has evoked): Why didn't I think of it? Why, why, why?
Note that this idea (which has currently generated over $600K for the guy that had it) required no special skills. Alex Tew's distinction was (a) to be the first to think of it, and (b) be wacky enough to give it a shot (which was relatively easy because (c) he's a college student, and (d) it didn't require a lot of capital). I really think he deserves every bit of his success, despite the fact that it didn't require a great deal of hard work or incredible intellectual powers. He had an idea and took a shot.
I'll be interested to see what he comes up with next (if anything).
